Jennifer Lopez’s latest romantic comedy “Marry Me” lands in theaters and on Peacock on Friday, Feb. 11, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Duncan knew she would need a showstopper of a wedding dress for the
Jennifer Lopez starrer “Marry Me.” The wedding dress is not just a key
character in the film — it is at the center of the story.
Lopez plays Kat Valdez, one half of the mega-celebrity couple Kat
& Bastian, played by singer Maluma. The two plan to get married on
stage and stream their nuptials around the world while performing the
film’s titular hit single… until Kat discovers Bastian has been cheating
on her.
Duncan pulled the dress from Zuhair Murad’s bridal collection. The
strapless Cinderella-esque rose-gold metallic gown consisted of nine
layers constructed of silk taffeta, horsehair and tulle. The delicate
combination of sparkling crystals, silver, ruffles, embroidery and lace
made it extremely heavy — the dress weighed 95 pounds and required five
people to zip Lopez in.
