Raiders WR Davante Adams apologizes for shoving credentialed person after loss, faces potential discipline

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams is facing discipline from the league -- potentially even a suspension -- for pushing a credentialed worker to the ground after his team's loss to the Chiefs on Monday night, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported, per sources.

Adams was walking off GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium toward the tunnel when he shoved the person down. Not long after, Adams apologized to the man and addressed the incident during his postgame news conference.

"Before I say anything, I want to apologize to the guy [camera person] running off the field and he ran and jumped in front of me," Adams said. "I'm coming off the field and I bumped into him and pushed him. I think he ended up on the ground, so I want to say sorry to him because that was just frustration mixed with him running in front of me and I shouldn't have responded that way and that's how I initially responded. I want to apologize to him for that."

Adams later tweeted out an apology, as well.

Texas Longhorns Football

Social media reacts to Oklahoma Sooners' shutout loss to the Texas Longhorns

It was not a good day to be an Oklahoma Sooners fan. The Sooners were dominated in the Cotton Bowl by the Texas Longhorns, 49-0, marking their third straight loss in Big 12 play. This is their first three-game conference losing streak since 1998.

Without Dillon Gabriel, the offense resorted to the wildcat and trick plays to try and manufacture yards. Ultimately, the lack of an adequate passing attack combined with an untimely move away from the running game marked disaster for an offense that only generated 195 total yards and 11 first downs.

Buy Sooners Tickets

Defensively, it was just as bad.

After a three-and-out on the opening drive, the Sooners couldn’t stop Texas for anything. They allowed 585 yards of offense and nearly 300 yards rushing on the day.

As expected, Bijan Robinson was a load in the running game, rushing for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Texas’ offensive line dominated in the running game and made life incredibly easy for Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. Ewers was hardly under pressure, and when he was, he looked poised, throwing for 289 yards and four touchdowns on the day.

Texas had their way with the Oklahoma Sooners today and absolutely dominated in the Red River Showdown.

Let’s take a look at how social media reacted to the Sooners’ loss.

Hellraiser

Hellraiser

Review: The shocking turns to numbness in new ‘Hellraiser’

‘Hellraiser’

Writer-director Clive Barker’s 1987 horror movie “Hellraiser” (adapting his novella “The Hellbound Heart”) became a cult favorite due to its kinky overtones and its visually striking villain: a spiky-domed demon dubbed Pinhead. The new reboot retains the elements that define a “Hellraiser” story, including the sadomasochistic extra-dimensional monsters and a cast of human “heroes” who rarely act heroically. But there’s something lacking. For all the flayed flesh and impaled skin in the picture, this “Hellraiser” isn’t sharp enough.

Directed by David Bruckner from a screenplay by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski — a trio who previously collaborated on the excellent supernatural thriller “The Night House” — this “Hellraiser” stars Odessa A’zion as Riley, a habitual substance user who helps her shady boyfriend steal an ancient puzzle-box. The box can be twisted into multiple configurations, each of which leads to the solver’s hands getting punctured and a portal opening to a realm ruled by the Cenobites, a hedonistic race for whom pleasure, pain and enlightenment are all tightly — some might say constrictively — intertwined.

What Kanye West and Tucker Carlson reveal about the struggle for power

As far as I can tell, Fox News host Tucker Carlson had never interviewed Ye, the musician born Kanye West, before Thursday. Carlson has hyped West’s politics in the past; the musician’s slow shift into Donald Trump’s broader orbit has been hailed by many on the right. But it wasn’t until this week, it seems, that Carlson granted Ye airtime for an extended conversation.

This is also the week in which Ye made an international splash while wearing a T-shirt to Paris Fashion Week that proclaimed, in large block letters, “WHITE LIVES MATTER.” And Carlson reached out.

Sign up for How To Read This Chart, a weekly data newsletter from Philip Bump

As he opened his show, Carlson framed the interview around the shirt and its message. Ye, Carlson said, had become “a kind of Christian evangelist” whose embrace of the “obviously true” phrase had infuriated the left, to Carlson’s glee. And, speaking to Carlson, Ye hit the notes that you might expect from a Carlson guest: Trump was great, the left is toxic, etc.

Jose Ramirez's 2-run homer sends Guardians past Rays in AL opener

CLEVELAND -- When the Cleveland Guardians needed a response, after Tampa Bay took a 1-0 lead in Game 1 of their AL wild card series on Friday, it came as no surprise that all-star third baseman Jose Ramirez would be the guy to come through. He's done it all year.

"He's inevitable," winning pitcher Shane Bieber said after the Guardians 2-1 win. "To do it right away, that was huge. I know for me personally, any pitcher, will tell you that."

Ramirez hit an 88 mph changeup for a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning on Friday not long after Jose Siri had given the Rays the lead in the top of the inning. Response accomplished.

"Yeah, that (responding) came through my mind, but we have a really good team, so I knew we were capable to come back," Ramirez said through the team interpreter. "When it came off the bat I felt it was a homer, but with this weather you never know, and when I saw the center fielder trying to get to the wall, I was kind of concerned and I kind of sped up a little bit my pace (on the bases)."

F1

F1 ARC FERMÉ INTERVIEWS

(Conducted by Naomi Schiff)

Q: Congratulations, Charles, incredible lap there in front of this incredible crowd here in Singapore. For everyone here and for everyone at home, take us through that lap.

Charles LECLERC: I didn't hear the end. But yeah, definitely an amazing crowd. And it's great to see so many people attending the event. It's been a very, very tricky qualifying – Q1, Q2 with the inters, then in Q3, we didn't really know what to do. We went for the soft at the very last minute. And it paid off. I mean, it was really, really tricky. I did a mistake on my last lap, so I thought we wouldn't get pole, but it was just an off. So really, really happy.

Q: It was a challenging start to the weekend for you this weekend. What are the positive thoughts for tomorrow with the data you've collected so far?

CL: Yeah, I'm very happy with today's result, especially considering the Friday that we've had. We had a very limited amount of laps yesterday, for some issues, but we recovered well. We don't have much data for the race run. But, yeah, if we do the perfect execution, I'm sure we can win.

Q: OK, the first question I asked you was to take us through this lap for everyone here and for everyone at home.

CL: It was really, really special. I mean, every qualifying on street tracks are super on the limit. And even more when it's damp like that, there are some parts of the track that are wet, so you lose the rear. But overall I managed to do quite a clean lap. And it worked well.

Q: Thank you very much. Congratulations. Checo, your first front-row start here in Singapore. What are you looking forward to the most tomorrow?

Sergio PÉREZ: To that start. I think there’s a good opportunity tomorrow already from the start to attack Charles and go for the win. It's quite disappointing to miss out on pole by two hundredths. But at the end of the day this is a great team result. My team did a fantastic job – the right calls out there and yeah, pretty happy and a solid job.

Q: Constantly changing conditions and as you mentioned the margins were so tight. What do you think you have on them to get to them tomorrow?

Cowboys

Cowboys

2022 NFL season, Week 3: What we learned from Cowboys' win over Giants on Monday night

  1. No Dak, no problem. Cooper Rush started his second game of 2022 and once again got the job done, completing 21 of 31 passes for 215 yards and a crucial touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb to push the Cowboys ahead of the Giants midway through the final quarter. Through two games, Rush has handled the monumental responsibilities of a Cowboys starting quarterback with grace, showing he's capable of handling the reins while Dak Prescott recovers. His performance helped the Cowboys out gain the Giants by more than a yard per play, and his series of completions on the aforementioned touchdown drive -- including a bullet to Lamb to convert a fourth-and-4 -- powered the Cowboys to a big win early in the season. We'll leave the illogical quarterback controversy discussion for Twitter users to kill time in the days ahead, and in its place we can acknowledge Rush has certainly helped himself a whole lot with his play in the last two games. Dallas is 2-1 because of it.
  2. The Giants' line still has problems. The statistics don’t show it, but Daniel Jones played quite well (save for his final attempt, which ended in the hands of Trevon Diggs). Jones looked like the quarterback Giants fans have been praying he'd become for the last few years. He was poised, and even if some of his attempts came a tick too slow, he still let it rip throughout the night. Unfortunately, his receivers often didn't do him any favors on the other end of his passes, nor did those tasked with protecting him. This loss is not on Jones, but the offensive line, which surrendered QB pressures on an astounding 40.5% of his dropbacks Monday night. Jones was quite literally under duress for much of the game, was sacked five times, and still found a way to keep the Giants afloat. He just never had enough time to get settled, which points more toward New York's current state up front. Rookie tackle Evan Neal -- the chosen target of defensive coordinator Dan Quinn -- won't want to watch this tape, but it will be a valuable teaching tool for the first-round pick.
  3. Saquon is...back? Saquon Barkley leads all running backs in rush yards over expected through three weeks (+112) and trails only Lamar Jackson among all positions. Barkley gained 27 of that RYOE total on Monday night, with +31 coming on his 36-yard touchdown run. That play was a longtime coming for Giants fans, who have been forced to wait years for Barkley to return to the form that saw him selected second overall in 2018. Barkley finally appears healthy and capable of making a weekly difference for this Giants offense, displaying the burst, agility, change of direction and top speed that once endeared him to the entire NFL. The timing is great, of course, coming in a contract year. If he can stay healthy all season, the Giants will undoubtedly be in a better position in each game because of his contributions.
  4. Dallas' rushing attack: Also back. A tip of the 10-gallon hat is due to both Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott, who combined to rush for 178 yards and one touchdown on 28 carries. Their efforts perfectly insulated Rush, establishing a ground attack that controlled the game and helped Dallas' offense move the ball consistently throughout the night. Penalties undercut their offensive ambitions, but Elliott stepped up in a couple of key short-yardage moments on a drive that ended with a game-tying, 1-yard Elliott score. The threat of the run also helped keep New York's defense honest, affording Rush the opportunities to push the ball down the field. It was especially valuable on the drive that produced the decisive touchdown, and much of the credit is due to the insertion of Jason Peters at left guard. The perfect example came on third-and-12 in the first half, when Dallas called a toss left and easily picked up the first down on a 27-yard Elliott run. This is what made the Cowboys an elite team early in Elliott's career, and while he's not the same home run hitter of years past, the one-two punch of Elliott and Pollard can be a real weapon for Dallas if it keeps blocking this well up front -- regardless of who is playing quarterback.
  5. Dallas' defense is more than just Micah Parsons. The second-year linebacker is an absolute game-wrecker, but Monday night truly belonged to Demarcus Lawrence. Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn played around with Lawrence's alignment for much of the night, causing issues for New York's maligned offensive line, and Lawrence capitalized to the tune of three sacks and four pressures. Parsons chipped in four more pressures, with the two teaming up with Dorance Armstrong (four pressures, one sack) to harass Jones all night. Dallas finally took advantage of the success up front when Diggs made a diving interception to seal the win, capping a night that should make Quinn proud of his unit's consistent ability to make a difference. It's going to matter much more in the weeks ahead.

Description: taboola mid article

The Central Islamic Committee of Thailand. Tak perlu ragu lagi saat terkena liur kucing, memegang makanannya, membelai bulu halusnya, atau membersihkan barang yang terjilat kucing.

Hurricane tracker

Ian is now a Tropical Storm in the Caribbean Sea and is forecast to become a strong hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico next week. Barring any major track shifts, most if not all of the impacts from the storm will stay to the south and east of Alabama. Get the latest update on the tropics in the video above.

Here's the latest NWS National Hurricane Center forecast discussion:

By early Sunday, Ian is expected to reach the western portion of the ridge, and the storm should turn west-northwestward, and then northwestward over the northwestern Caribbean in 36 to 48 hours. After that time, Ian is forecast to turn north-northwestward and northward around the western portion of the ridge. This will bring Ian near or over Western Cuba and into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. Late in the period, the guidance indicates the storm will begin to recurve toward Florida.

Satellite image of a tropical storm
WVTM 13

As mentioned before, the track models are in general agreement with this scenario, however, there is a large amount of cross-track spread at 72 hours and beyond. In fact, the east-west spread in the guidance at 96 hours is about 180 n mi, with the CTCI and ECMWF along the eastern side of the envelope, and the GFS, HWRF, and GFS ensemble mean along the western side. The overall guidance envelope has shifted slightly westward this cycle, and the NHC track has been nudged in that direction and lies just east of the various consensus aids. Given the spread in the guidance and the still shifting dynamical models, additional adjustments to the track forecast may be needed in subsequent advisories.

Tropical forecast model
WVTM 13

The shear that has been plaguing Ian is forecast to continue to decrease over the next day or two while the cyclone moves over the warm waters of the central and northwestern Caribbean Sea. This should allow for strengthening, with steady to rapid intensification (RI) quite possible once an inner core becomes established. Although the updated NHC forecast is just shy of forecasting RI (30 kt or greater increase over 24 h) during any 24-h period over the next few days, it calls for a 45-kt increase in wind speed between 24 and 72 hours, and Since Ian is not expected to remain over Cuba long, little weakening is expected due to that land interaction, and the forecast again shows Ian as a major hurricane over the eastern Gulf when it is approaching the west coast of Florida.

Tropical Storm Ian forecast track
WVTM 13

IAN KEY MESSAGES

  • Ian is expected to produce heavy rainfall and instances of flash flooding and possible mudslides in areas of higher terrain, particularly over Jamaica and Cuba.
  • Hurricane conditions are possible in the Cayman Islands by early Monday, with tropical storm conditions possible by late Sunday. Tropical storm conditions are possible in Jamaica on Sunday.
  • Early next week, Ian is forecast to move near or over western Cuba as a strengthening hurricane and then approach the Florida peninsula at or near major hurricane strength, with the potential for significant impacts from storm surge, hurricane-force winds, and heavy rainfall. While it is too soon to determine the exact magnitude and location of these impacts, residents in Cuba, the Florida Keys, and the Florida peninsula should ensure they have their hurricane plan in place and closely monitor forecast updates through the weekend.

Steelers

  1. Amari Cooper paying off early. Think the Dallas Cowboys might be regretting the Cooper trade? In what amounted to a salary dump, the Browns picked up a potential game-changer. Through three games, he's been as good as expected. After a quiet opener, Cooper had a big Week 2 game that largely was forgotten when the Browns blew a two-score lead late (and Cooper admitted he was partly at fault in that loss). But in Week 3, Cooper was mainly excellent, turning in his second-straight 100-yard game and got the Browns in business Thursday with an 11-yard score. When Ahkello Witherspoon -- arguably the Steelers' best corner -- went down in the third quarter due to injury, the Browns immediately ran a vertical route for Cooper and he delivered with a 32-yard catch that led to an important TD that put the game away. Even with a fourth-quarter drop on a Jacoby Brissett bullet, Cooper has proven his worth in the early going.
  2. Heat rising for Trubisky. Everyone knew this was a big game for Mitchell Trubisky. And he started out pretty hot, completing eight of his first nine passes -- with a big assist from George Pickens -- and a rushing touchdown, leading the Steelers to a 14-13 halftime edge. He mostly attacked the sidelines and avoided the middle of the field, true to his scouting report. The Browns couldn't stop it at first, but the Browns made necessary second-half adjustments and forced Trubisky to look more inside. It didn't go well. The Steelers opened with back-to-back three-and-outs, and the Browns turned a one-point deficit into a 23-14 lead. The Steelers made it three straight three-and-outs before Trubisky led the team on a late field-goal drive. To be fair, not everything was Trubisky's fault. While the Steelers threw the kitchen sink at Myles Garrett, the Browns star pass rusher eventually broke through in the second half. The receivers were guilty of a few third-quarter drops, and offensive coordinator Matt Canada abandoned the run game after a certain point, too. But it's hard not to wonder, with a semi-bye this week, whether the Steelers will start mulling a switch to rookie Kenny Pickett, even though Mike Tomlin shot that idea down quickly after the game.
  3. Run-defense leaks not yet plugged. The Steelers run defense couldn't get a stop when it needed one (or two or three) against the Patriots last week. Thursday night was more of the same. The Browns pummeled away at the Steelers' front and stressed the back seven with several second-level runs. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are as good a duo as there is in the NFL, and the Browns have a gnarly offensive line. But this kind of dominance won't go over well with a Mike Tomlin-coached team. This is not just an absent T.J. Watt problem -- and it's not as if this issue just arose from thin air. Last season's run defense was borderline ugly; through three 2022 games, it's merely frustrating as heck. They made several personnel changes, changed coordinators (from Keith Butler to Teryl Austin) and added Brian Flores to the coaching staff. So far, the changes have not taken. Cleveland finished the game with 171 yards rushing on 38 carries, for a 4.5-yard average. With several multi-faceted offenses coming up on the schedule, the Steelers have a glaring issue to fix on defense.
  4. No joke: Njoku shines in primetime. David Njoku tied a career-high for catches in a game before the first half's two-minute warning -- and he'd pass his personal best midway through the third quarter. When the Browns signed Njoku to a four-year, $56.75 million deal in May, more than a few eyebrows were raised. He's had some big moments and flash plays but rarely took over games. We can't say Njoku did that exactly on Thursday, but this is the kind of performance he should turn in two or three times a season. He finished with nine catches for 89 yards (the second-highest game total in his career) and a big early score. Njoku dropped a slightly high pass inside the Steelers' 5-yard line late in the third quarter, and the Browns settled for a field goal in a tight game. But that was about the only complaint about his performance against the a Steelers team that had pretty much put a lid on him previously in his career.
  5. Banged-up Browns defense turns in gutsy effort. Coming off the loss to the Jets, the Browns' young, talented defense faced some heat this week. Understandably, too. But Thursday night was a positive step in the right direction -- and a step backward in another area. The Steelers had some juice early, but the Browns' defense finished the game strong, allowing only one conversion on nine third downs. Even more impressive? They did it without several key performers on that side of the ball. Cleveland was already without Jadeveon Clowney and Chase Winovich, who were ruled out earlier in the week. But during the game, three more key defenders went down with injuries: Linebackers Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (quad) and Anthony Walker (knee), and safety Ronnie Harrison (hamstring). All the injuries left the Browns extremely short-handed, and it's fair to wonder if all the missing personnel led to communication errors -- hence the three (!) too-many-men-on-the-field penalties. But overall, this was a gutsy effort by a thinned-out unit that badly needed this performance.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Game recap: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20, New Orleans Saints 10 | 2022 NFL Week 2

Bucs score 17 consecutive points after Marshon Lattimore was ejected

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the New Orleans Saints 20-10 in a close defensive struggle that got away from the Saints following a fourth quarter fight Sunday at the Caesars Superdome.

The fight started early in the period with the score tied at 3 when Bucs receiver Mike Evans came off the sideline to blindside Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore while he and Bucs running back Leonard Fournette were shoving each other following an incomplete pass by Tom Brady. There was a scrum near midfield for a few minutes until order could be restored by the officials. Evans and Lattimore, who had a similar encounter in 2017, were ejected.

Following the ejections, Saints quarterback Jameis Winston was picked off in the end zone by Tampa's Jamel Dean. The Bucs then marched in for their first touchdown, a 28-yard pass from Brady to Breshad Perriman with 7:41 to play, The Saints offense, which struggled for most of the game, turned the ball over on the next possession on another Dean interception of Winston. The Bucs (2-0) turned that into a 47-yard field goal by Ryan Succop, his second one from that distance Sunday. Tampa put the game away on the following possession when safety Mike Edwards returned another Winston interception 68 yards for a touchdown. Winston was 25 of 40 for 236 yards with one touchdown and the three interceptions. He was sacked six times.

Premier League

Liverpool Premier League 2021/22 Prize Money Revealed - It's A Staggering Amount

Reds second only to Champions Manchester City in Premier League winnings last season.

As reported by The Mail, the Premier League have released details of the payments made to clubs for prize money for the 2021/22 season.

It was an enthralling campaign with fans returning to stadiums in full after the pandemic and saw Manchester City pip Liverpool to the title.

At one point, Pep Guardiola's team trailed Aston Villa 2-0 on a dramatic final day but turned it around to retain their crown by winning 3-2 whilst Liverpool did their job and beat Wolves 3-1 at Anfield to agonisingly miss out by a single point.

It is City that understandably won the most Premier League prize money walking away with just over £153million.

Artemis launch

Though NASA's Artemis I mega moon rocket has been dominating the news lately due to its delayed launch, this first stage of the space agency's long-awaited lunar program is fascinating, and controversial, for a number of reasons.

Here's our list of the seven most essential things to know about Artemis I, beyond the headlines.

It will be the most powerful rocket NASA has ever built

OK, so this might be the one interesting detail about the SLS that's widely known. The SLS used for Artemis I will generate about 15% more thrust than the Saturn V rocket that sent Apollo astronauts to the moon. The Soviet Union did build a more powerful rocket in the 1960s, but all its test flights failed.

SLS will take the crown for most powerful rocket currently flying away from Elon Musk and the SpaceX Falcon Heavy post-launch, but if Musk's Starship ends up living up to its promise, it may retake that title within a few years.

UFC 278

UFC 278 results highlights: Leon Edwards stuns Kamaru Usman with last-minute knockout to claim world title

Leon Edwards just shocked the world. The "Rocky" story of Edwards came to life with a come-from-behind, head-kick knockout late in Round 5 of the main event of UFC 278 on Saturday night.

After becoming the first person to score a takedown on the nearly perfect champion in Round 1, Edwards struggled in the following rounds to build any kind of momentum. Usman took over the fight with his superior wrestling and slung heavy boxing combinations and seemed on his way to yet another title defense as he neared Anderson Silva's record for most all time.

Usman's pace slowed in Round 5, but it was likely leading towards a unanimous decision win for the champ as Edwards seemed defeated in his corner as his team begged him to come to life in the final round.

Suddenly, Edwards flicked out a right jab and fired up a left head kick that knocked Usman out cold at 4:04 of Round 5.

Wednesday

Though Morticia and Gomez Addams’ daughter is best known for her misanthropy, the first trailer for Netflix’s upcoming comedy Wednesday from director Tim Burton’s a very useful (and promising) reminder that the morose teen’s always been a social butterfly. While the people Wednesday Addams deigns to grace with her presence might not enjoy her idea of a good time, that’s not to say that she isn’t making a good faith effort to, you know, connect with them.

Wednesday’s first trailer introduces its take on Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) just as she’s being expelled from yet another one of her “normal” schools for terrorizing her fellow students — something neither her mother (Catherine Zeta-Jones) nor father (Luis Guzman) are especially surprised to hear. But while Wednesday’s parents know that she’s simply being herself and protecting her brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), they also understand that if their daughter’s ever going to get a solid education, she’s going to need a school that can cater to her unique sensibilities.

It’s clear from the trailer that Nevermore Academy, a curious school run by Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie), is a much better fit for Wednesday, what with its classes focused on deadly duels and otherworldly creatures. But what’s harder to tell is whether the rest of Nevermore’s student body’s going to be ready for the madness its newest student will bring to the school when Wednesday hits Netflix this fall.

Florence Pugh

Welcome to Florence Pugh’s single era. Following the success of her earnest YouTube acoustic covers from nearly a decade ago, the Don’t Worry Darling actor has released her long-awaited debut … wait. [Squints.] Actually, it appears that Florence Pugh is single, as in no longer attached to the Scrubs actor Zach Braff after a three-year relationship, with no plans to release music anytime soon (rude). She and Braff quietly separated earlier this year, and they kept the breakup on the down low to avoid the glee of Zach-ence antis. “We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on,” said Pugh in a Harper’s Bazaar cover story. “We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve done that.” Honestly, Ms. Pugh, the only thing we have an opinion about is your music career. How dare you release sincere Jack Johnson, the Lumineers, and “Wonderwall” covers under the iconic stage name Flossie Rose, only to abandon your early musician dreams? Ma’am, where is the album?

In other Florence Pugh news, she’s not not addressing rumors about the set of Don’t Worry Darling, out September 23. What she does reveal is that Pugh was set to play Bunny, a supporting role, but eventually took on the lead role of Alice Chambers with Wilde now playing Bunny. “It was a different beast,” Pugh said on moving into the role of Alice. “I love playing a distressed woman.” The only drawback of starring alongside the “most famous pop star in the world”? “When it’s reduced to your sex scenes, or to watch the most famous man in the world go down on someone, it’s not why we do it,” she said. “It’s not why I’m in this industry. Obviously, the nature of hiring the most famous pop star in the world, you’re going to have conversations like that. That’s just not what I’m going to be discussing because [this movie is] bigger and better than that.” Welp, Flossie’s just not about the pop-star life right now. Truly a pity!

Brentford vs Man United

Man United suffer 4-0 thrashing at Brentford

Manchester United slumped to the bottom of the early Premier League standings after a 4-0 thrashing at Brentford in what was Cristiano Ronaldo's first start of the 2022-23 season on Saturday.

United's calamitous afternoon began in typical fashion with David de Gea allowing Josh Dasilva's tame, low effort through his hands and into the back of the net 10 minutes in.

The lackadaisical United defence then had their deficit doubled eight minutes later. Ex-Brentford player Christian Eriksen, who was booed by the home fans earlier in the match, was harried out of possession by Mathias Jensen after a poor pass by De Gea and the midfielder dummied and sent the United player the wrong way to slot home.

On the half hour mark, Brentford had their third. More poor defending saw United's defence at standstill when Ivan Toney headed a corner back across goal, and Ben Mee outbattled Lisandro Martinez to head in from close range.

Thomas Frank's side continued the onslaught and scored their fourth goal five minutes later. In a perfectly-executed counter-attack, Ivan Toney slid the ball through to Brian Mbuemo, who shook off a challenge and fired past De Gea.

"It was a horrible day," De Gea said. "I should have saved the first shot and then the result may have been different.

"Other teams concede one goal and win 5-1. We have to react much better. It was a poor performance."

It was the first time United had conceded four goals in the first half away from home in their Premier League history. Ten Hag's side managed to stop the flow of conceded goals in the second half, but failed to convert their chances which would have restored some pride.

The demolition was Brentford's first win over United in all competitions since a 2-0 victory in the FA Cup in February 1938. Former Ajax boss Ten Hag becomes the first United manager in over 100 years to lose his first two matches.
